Requirements

Apart from the obvious internet connection, you’ll also need Microsoft’s .NET Framework 2.0 installed, which means you’ll need a computer running at least Windows 2000 above. I’ve tested it so far in Windows 2000 SP4, XP SP2 and Vista and it works fine in all of them.

Now with version 2.0 you must have a Twitter account, you can no-longer just view the public timeline. Sign-up for a new Twitter account.

Installation

The bundled installer should put everything where it should be. Twitterlicious will now run at startup, although you can disable this by removing the Twitterlicious shortcut in the Startup folder in your Programs menu.

Shortcuts

Twitterlicious nearly allows you to use it without the mouse, you still have to use the tray icon when you minimise, but everything else should be accessible with these shortcuts:

• Ctrl + W — minimise the Twitterlicious main window.
• Ctrl + R — refresh.
• Ctrl + K — mark all twits as read.
• Ctrl + Return — send update (same as clicking “Go”)
• Ctrl + L — opens the link in the selected tweet in a browser window.
• Ctrl + U — marks the current selected tweet as unread.
• Ctrl + D — sends a direct text to the selected tweet’s user.
• Ctrl + E — replys to the selected tweet (@username).
• Ctrl + B — view the selected tweet in the browser.
• Ctrl + T — view the selected tweet’s user’s website.
• Ctrl + F — add the selected tweet as a favourate (currently disabled until API support is finalised).

优秀的老牌国产系统工具Windows优化大师，不知不觉间已走到了第八个年头。暮然回首，当年最为优秀的一批国产共享软件，很多都已淡出了我们的视线。能够坚持到今天，未尝不是一种难能可贵。

从月初开始，优化论坛上已经较为低调的进行了一些纪念活动，并有消息传出会很快发布一个非常特别的Windows优化大师8周年珍藏版。但一直到今天（1月15日）上午，Windows优化大师官网才正式发布8周年珍藏版。笔者在第一时间下载后发现，该版本在安装、启动及功能界面上都与以往版本有一定区别，功能上也有一定的调整与改进。但最让人惊喜的是，该版本属于全功能的免注册版，与专业版功能相当，且无须付费注册。

在wangtam上获得消息：Windows Media Player 11正式版已于昨天（10月30日）如期发布了。
不过目前只有英文版。
Windows Media Player 11 将令用户将领略全新的操作界面，更人性化在线内容销售店集成，以及全面改进的媒体库导航性能。支持所有版本的 Windows XP Service Pack 2，包括 Windows XP Home Edition N 和 Windows XP Professional N。

• Windows Media Player 11 英文正式版 64位版本

值得注意的是对于 Zune 的支持、同步、管理方面非常不错。安装也非常简单，不过根IE7一样，也要通过正版验证，对于D版（盗版）的Windows XP用户安装方法如下：

1. winrar 解压 wmp11-windowsxp-x86-enu.exe 到某目录
2. winrar 解压 wmp11.exe 和 wmfdist11.exe 到分别的目录: wmp11\ 和 wmfdist11\
3. 修改 wmp11\update\update.inf

IE7正式版已经发布有一段时间了，
嘉佑在发布的当天就下载了一个使用，
不过安装的时候好像有点慢，
最后才知道安装的时候要通过微软的正版验证，
对D版的用户来说，
也许IE7不能成功安装，
因为不能通过微软的正版验证，
上次的时候我介绍过一种办法可以绕过微软的正版验证程序，
今天晚上嘉佑介绍另外一种方法：

1，打开“文件夹选项”，“查看”选择“显示所有的文件和文件夹”

2，打开系统盘，找到Documents and Settings文件夹，打开all users文件夹内的Application Data子文件夹，继续选择打开ndows Genuine Advantage，将data文件夹里面的data.dat删除

3，设置all users文件夹为只读

4，断开网络安装IE7.0

5, 接下来就可以正确使用IE7了

其实根本不应该写这样的标题，Lifehacker的作者女士不知道是否已经因为这个标题而后悔了。她列了10个她认为最好的用于Windows平台的开源软件：

Mozilla Firefox，Web浏览器，功能强大，扩展非常多，安全，快速。
Mozilla Thunderbird，收邮件的客户端软件，功能强大，扩展多，安全。它内置搜索，支持网络上的全部语言，带标签，过滤器，及过滤器基础上的动作等功能。
OpenOffice，和微软Office一样的办公软件套装，字处理/演示/速算表/画图等功能齐全，在一定程度上兼容微软Office文件。
Gaim，一体化的IM软件，支持AIM/ICQ/Yahoo/MSN/Jabber/Gtalk/QQ等多种协议，只需要这一个软件，所有这些账号可以全上。
ClamWin，杀毒软件。说是要配合其他软件才能自动防杀，否则只能手工。
VLC Media Player，音频视频播放，支持多种格式。
KeePass，密码管理。
Cygwin，它是一个运行于Win平台上的模拟Linux的环境，带有一系列Linux下才有的工具。如果觉得Linux下的各种工具好用，又只有Windows机器的话，可以一试。
Eraser，硬盘数据毁灭工具。
TrueCrypt，文件夹加锁工具。

总之，这位女士的口味还是很特别的，像9/10两个软件我还没听说过，Clamwin和Keepass也只是知道，并没有用过，实际上我的Win机最近1年没有任何防毒软件，算是裸奔，密码似乎还没有到要用软件来记录的程度；Cygwin和VLC又不喜欢，还是装一个Linux或是直接用点Gnuwin一类的Port算了，媒体播放还有Mpalyer呢。

在这个贴子的留言里，我们可以发现其他众多优秀的可用在Windows平台上的开源软件：

Audacity，用于录音、编辑及输出（包括mp3）。
NVU，可视化网页编辑。
Vim，最强大的编辑器，在文字/代码编辑上无出其右者。
Filezilla，FTP工具，相当好用，它还出了FTP服务器。
7ZIP，压缩解压缩工具，除常见格式外，还有自己的7Z格式。
PDFCreater，可以让其他软件直接生成PDF文档。
TuxPaint，Tux就是Linux那只小企鹅的名字，这个软件是个画图软件，但比Windows画笔的功能丰富。
PuTTY，连接*nix主机的客户端，一般用SSH的都用它。
GIMP，类似PhotoShop的照片编辑软件，功能也很强大，有Win版。
Azureus，Java写的BT客户端，不过Win上BT软件很多免费的，倒是不一定用它。
Jedit，同样是Java写的编辑器，功能上也很强。
开发用的Eclipse和DevC++。
Perl/Phthon能不能算？反正我装了Perl，用来处理些简单的重复操作。

当然，最后不能忘了专门收集此类软件的网站(如果还没找到地址，就Google吧)：

总之，就是用Windows，也一样能在没钱的情况下用上好用而且不违反任何法规的软件（在国内加密的除外），所需要的就是开放自己的眼界，再加上略微转变一点工作思路即可。

最后，报告个Debian的社区外筹钱的动向，最新成果是已经有人向他们捐了钱，并且已经有两位Release Manager将开始为期1月的全职工作，为此他们将获得6000美元的报酬。他们的全职工作将能让Debian下一个版本的发布更快些。
